How to Name Your WOW Room: 20+ Inspiring Ideas

In our last article, we talked about how to create a Minimum Viable WOW Room—a single, exceptional space that helps you charge a premium without a full hotel renovation.

But how do you actually sell that room? It’s not just about what’s inside. It’s about the story it tells. That story starts with its name. Forget boring labels like “Room 301” or “Junior Suite.” Give your rooms names that evoke emotions and promise an unforgettable experience.

Pick a Single Emotional Promise

When designing your WOW room, anchor it to a single feeling, not just a feature. Once you have a promise, you can build the entire experience around it.

Here are a few examples to get you started:

🌿 Calm & Restoration

  • “Forest Bathing in the City”: A room with plants, soft earthy tones, and an essential oil diffuser. The promise: an escape from the urban rush into nature.
  • “Morning Ritual Haven”: Equipped with a yoga mat, a journal, and a sunrise tea tray. The promise: a peaceful start to the day and a moment for self-care.
  • “Digital Detox Den”: No TV, an analog clock, and a curated set of books. The promise: a break from technology and a return to simplicity.

Romance & Celebration

  • “Champagne Sunset Suite”: A terrace set up with a chilled bottle, a stunning view, and everything ready for a golden-hour photoshoot. The promise: a perfect romantic evening.
  • “Proposal-Perfect Hideaway”: Flower petals, a private in-room dinner option, and a custom music playlist. The promise: an unforgettable celebration of love.

🎶 Playfulness & Culture

  • “Vinyl & Velvet Nights”: A record player with a curated music selection and cozy lighting. The promise: a nostalgic return to an analog era.
  • “Cinema Under the Stars”: A projector, a popcorn kit, and an outdoor blanket. The promise: an intimate movie night under the open sky.

🌙 Luxury & Indulgence

  • “Bathtub & Bubbles Suite”: A freestanding tub, bath salts, and a glass of prosecco. The promise: absolute relaxation and pampering.
  • “Midnight Spa Escape”: An in-room massage table, an aromatherapy kit, and a late checkout. The promise: a wellness experience without ever leaving the room.

How to Make It Practical

  1. Select Your Promise: Get inspired by one of the themes above and choose a promise that best fits your hotel’s character and target audience.
  2. Give It a Name: Once you have a promise, name the room accordingly. For example, instead of “Luxury Suite,” use “The Skyline Soak Suite.” The name itself becomes part of the marketing hook that draws people in.
  3. Create One Signature Moment: Center everything in the room around this single experience. A freestanding tub with soft lighting, a record player with a stack of curated records, or a terrace with a stunning view. This one powerful element sells the room.
  4. Support It with Small Rituals: Help the guest truly live the experience. Add bath salts with local herbs next to the tub. Include a handwritten note by the record player that tells the story of the selected albums.
  5. Photos Sell Emotions: Don’t just show empty rooms. Photograph the details: steam rising from the tub, hands placing a tray, the glow of a lantern on the terrace. Capture the feeling, not just the square meters.

Your rooms have the potential to be more than just a place to sleep. Give them a story. Give them a name. And watch them transform from an ordinary room into an unforgettable experience that guests are willing to pay a premium for.
